Spring Concert

Last night was Laura's end-of-the-year guitar concert. She has truly enjoyed learning to play from her school music teacher, Mrs. Tallino, and plans to continue her lessons in the fall. (maybe even over the summer, if Mom can find a teacher for the right price!)

Here are a few pictures from the performance along with a video clip of the song Carrot Stew.

Our budding rock star, all dressed in the required black and white concert clothes (which we found out were a requirement just a few days ago...thank goodness for Lands End and super fast shipping!)

Laura and Emma B.

(who, by the way, is also dressed in last-minute b&w clothes from Lands End!!)

Patiently waiting her turn...

Prepare to be dazzled.......

Happy, Happy Birthday Emily!

Emily celebrated her 7th birthday with a super fun "flower" party. The girls painted suncatchers, decorated flower pots, took some swings at a very stubborn flower pinata, and played lots of fun games. Each girl took home a packet of seeds, bag of soil and pair of gardening gloves for some at-home gardening, too.

Wow...7 years old!

Busy, Busy Boy!

Grady LOVES to be outside!

He plays hard!

and it wears him out!!

Touch Tank & Gibson Cove

Emily's 1st grade class went on an awesome field trip to Kodiak's Touch Tank. The kids got to investigate sea stars, anemone's, sponges, crabs and all sorts of other cool sea life. I was lucky enough to go along as a chaperone while Grady stayed with our fab neighbor for the day. Stay tuned for more pictures, as Laura's 2nd grade class is headed there next week!

More Easter

Thank you, Easter Bunny!

Easter!

I know, Easter was quite awhile ago...but it's been busy around here and blogging has had to take a backseat to all of the other "stuff" we've had going on. Better late than never though, right?
Grady really enjoyed coloring the eggs. And seeing how much of a SPLASH! he could make by dropping the eggs in the cup.

The girls are expert egg-dyer's now, and I just sit back and watch. Ahhhhhh!

Grady was not as thrilled with the big, scary bunny as he was with the eggs. Nope, he did not like this experience at all!

Chopper

One of Grady's favorite toys is his Wacky Wheels Helicopter that he received as a Christmas present. It's a very simple, 2-button remote controlled helicopter that has flashing lights and a twirling rotor and is just crazy fun! Sadly, it was played with a little too "roughly" by a neighbor boy, and needed some repair work. Jerod tore into it, but it didn't look good....so as a precaution, I ordered a new one online. Then, (go figure!) Jerod was able to salvage the toy.

Well! Let me tell ya! If there's anything in this world better than a Wacky Wheels helicopter toy, it's TWO Wacky Wheels helicopter toys!!!
