Okay, okay....I'll do it!

Some people have been giving me a hard time about the fact that there are very few pictures of me on our blog. Well, when you're behind the camera all of the time, it's rather tricky to get yourself in the photo! I tried anyway, and this is what I got! So, I apologize for the less-than-beautiful picture, but it's the best I could do on my own. Don't expect many more!

Awesome!

I think Jerod is pretty excited...they finally got a chance to see several of the boats from The Deadliest Catch, and the Captain of the Time Bandit even posed with him for a picture. Who knew you could meet celebrities while on a Bering Sea deployment?!

Halloween treats!

Wanda sent the girls a super fun box filled with Halloween crafts. Today we colored in ornaments and decorated paper lanterns- and had a really fun time!
Thanks, Wanda!

Getting better every day!

Here is an update on the progress Grady James is making in the area of forward mobility!!

Go Coast Guard!!

This is awesome footage of some of the Coast Guard's finest-
Click on the link to see "In Harm's Way", focusing on rescue swimmers at Air Station Sitka, Alaska.

LT Nate Hudson and Jerod went through flight school together, and he is actually the person who beat out Jerod for the coveted Cape Cod billet following flight school! He and his wife Jessika and their two boys, Reed and Aaron, just moved to Sitka this summer. An awesome family, obviously doing awesome things.

It'll give you chills, but it's so worth watching!

School Pictures 2008-2009

Where does the time go???

Oh, the tears as I type this....

Our little boy is growing up way too quickly. I so wanted Grady to wait until Jerod got home before he took his first steps, but I have been preparing myself over the last couple of weeks, knowing that it just wasn't going to happen. He has taken a step or two, here and there, these last few days- but tonight he really took off! It's kind of tricky to manage the filming while holding out my arms toward him so that he feels secure enough to get going, but I think we managed to get a cute little clip.

We Miss You, Daddy!

Book Buddies

Emily's first grade class has a "book buddy" program, where each weekend 2 lucky students get to take home the class bears, Patty and Patches. The kids are tasked with reading to their bear, taking it along with them wherever they go, and then journaling about all of their weekend adventures.
This Friday Emily was lucky enough to have her name drawn from the cup and came home, very excitedly, with Patty. Here is just a glimpse of our weekend with Patty:
