Trip Journal- Day 10

Day 10
Wednesday, June 25, 2008

Woo-hoo! We made it to Alaska- finally! We crossed the border yesterday around 4 p.m., Alaska time. We are now 4 hours behind all ya’ll on the East Coast. The border crossing went quickly and uneventfully, so after a good photo-op at the Welcome to Alaska sign, we trucked on awhile longer to Tok. We spent the night at the Sourdough Campground and I was so excited that they had free Wi-Fi, until I realized that I could only add text to the blog, not upload any pictures do to their gig restrictions (or something like that, I don’t really know).
The drive today is a pretty one, along the Wrangell Mountains and the Alaska Range. We hope to spend a little time checking out the glaciers along the Glenn Highway.
We will arrive in Anchorage this afternoon and plan to spend 2 nights there, hopefully to get any necessary shopping out of my system and to check out the city.
