Trip Journal- Day2

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

The first official camping night went well. We stopped in Geneva, Ohio- a really cute little town in wine country. I think we passed 5 or 6 wineries…my kind of town! Apparently R. E. Olds was born there, and we’re sure that’s important due to the number of signs we saw stating so…but we’re not sure exactly why. Maybe he invented the Oldsmobile?
We stayed in a nice little spot very close to a playground, and after hours and hours in the car, the girls were thrilled to run and play and swing. They weren’t hugely impressed with the primitive nature of the campground- no showers or flushing toilets, and they had to brush their teeth from a Dixie cup and a spigot and spit in the grass. Good times!
